How to Enjoy Your Self-Safari Drive

You need to mentally prepare to spend a whole day on a safari drive to get the best experience. Sometimes, you may not see the animals you had in mind, but waiting a bit longer or taking your time in the park can make all the difference.

Here’s how to have a fantastic self drive in a park:

  1. Get up early and have a hearty breakfast
  2. Start your safari at sunrise
  3. Carry healthy snacks and water
  4. Check your tire pressure, and add if necessary to 1.6 or reduce if it reads higher. The goal is to have traction as you drive on sand or gravel
  5. Be ready to go through checks and pay park fees as you start your safari
  6. When in the park, avoid getting out of your car. Only step out in designated areas
  7. The park is dusty, so some may get into your car
  8. Check out the watering holes to see more animals
