Namibia- African New Milionnaire Magnet

A global wealth intelligence firm based in South Africa, New World Wealth recently identified Namibia as the African New Millionaire Magnet. The firm ranked Namibia third wealthiest on the continent based on wealth-per-capita basis after South Africa and Mauritius.

The company’s March wealth report shows that about 2100 people living in Namibia have wealth exceeding $1 million. This marked an increase from the 1700 the firm reported in 2022. However, the figure is expected to increase to over 10,000 people by 2040. Here are good books on Amazon to help you learn about Namibia’s economy.

Angelique Bock Rection to the Namibia-African New Millionaire Magnet Report

Reacting to the report, Angelique Bock urged the Namibia government to channel potential investments into improving the lives of disadvantaged citizens. She urged the government to properly allocate this potential revenue to the building of schools, infrastructure development, and investments in Agriculture.

The economic researcher is of the view that millionaire investments in the country could result in the creation of more jobs for the citizens and better infrastructure development. However, there’s a risk that the wealthy people in the country will benefit more, depending on how they decide to invest their funds.

To her, the key benefits for the country will come from increased government revenue, basically from corporate taxes and other related taxes. However, the issue is whether the government will channel the extra revenue to developmental projects that will better the lives of its citizens, especially the disadvantaged ones.

There have been examples of other countries that promised jobs and development, but their citizens benefit little or nothing. “The responsibility to better Namibia’s economy doesn’t lie with foreign investors but with the country’s government”, says Angelique Bock.

Angelique Bock is among the African women who are impacting the financial industry. She’s using her research, analytical, and communication skills to help Namibians understand their country’s financial market.
