9. Henry Meja – $5080 

Henry Meja is a Kenyan footballer playing for Swedish football club Norrby IF. He is on loan from his parent club AIK Football whom he joined in 2022. Meja has played for Kenyan Premier League club Tusker FC. At AIK, he reportedly makes $1270 per week, which translates to $5080 monthly.

8. Abdi Salim – $5180 

Abdi Salim plays his club football in the Major League Soccer (MLS) for Orlando City. He started his career in college, where he played for Buffalo State Bengals and later Syracuse Orange. 

In 2022, he began playing at the senior level with the United Soccer League (USL) team (USL) Ocean City. In 2023, Abdi joined MLS side Orlando City, earning $1,295 weekly and $5180.

7. Eric Marcelo – $8736

Marcelo started his career at Kenyan club Gor Mahia. At the end of his contract, he moved to the Georgian club Kolkheti Poti and then went to Albania. His time in Albania ended without any games. 

He then went to Sweden, where he first played at Vasalund and now AIK.  Marcelo is said to earn around $2,446 weekly, which means that monthly, the player gets $8736.

6. Daniel Anyembe – $10,156

Daniel Anyemebe represented Denmark in the junior categories but declared his allegiance to Kenya at the senior level. He plays for the Danish side Viborg FF which he joined in 2021. He reportedly earns $2540 weekly, which is $10,160 monthly.

5. Eric Johanna – $18,972

Eric Johanna plays for the Thai club Muangthong United. His weekly wage is $4699, hence a $18,972 monthly pay. Johanna has played for Swedish sides IF Brommapojkarna and Vasserlunds. He began his senior career in Kenya at Mathare United.

4. Arnold Origi – $27,000

Arnold Origi is considered to be one of Kenya’s best goalkeepers. He’s played for several clubs in Kenya and Scandinavia. He started at Mathare United, Tusker, Moss, Uli, and Lillestrom, among others. Currently, he turns out for Hodd. The goalkeeper earns $27,000 monthly, which makes him one of the highest-paid footballers in Kenya.

3. Ayub Timbe – $34,974

Ayub Timbe currently plays for Ninjiang City in the Chinese League One. His weekly wages are thought to be around $8774, which makes his monthly salary $34,974. Timbe has come through the ranks from his days at the Genk youth team. He’s spent his career in Europe and Asia and secured his place in the Kenya national football team.

2. Victor Wanyama – $38,225

Victor Wanyama is globally known for playing for English Premier League side Tottenham FC. He’s also represented Celtic and Southampton and currently turns out for FC Montreal. He’s earned good money from his moves. Currently, Victor Wanyama’s salary is $38,225.

1. Michael Olunga – $46,000

Michael Olunga is currently the highest-paid Kenyan footballer. He earns $40,955 weekly at Al Duhail. This means that his monthly salary is $46,000. Olunga began his career at Liberty Sports Academy and developed through other Kenyan clubs like Gor Mahia. The striker then went to Djurgadens in Sweden, Guizhou in Chinese, Kashiwa Reysol in Japan, and his current team in Qatar.
