Deontay Wilder’s Net Worth

Deontay Wilder’s entry into boxing was fuelled by his quest to provide for his child. He started out at the age of 20 and established himself in the game.

He won his first professional match against Ethan Cox in 2008 at the Vanderbilt University Memorial Gym. His first high-profile match was against European heavyweights Audley Harrison whom he defeated.

Deontay Wilder won his first WBC Championship belt against Bermane Stiverne in 2015. He defended the title 10 times until Tyson Fury broke him in 2020. This led to the trilogy between him and the British-Irish national. Today, he is considered to be one of the deadliest punchers in the ring.

Despite this, in an emotional interview, the American said that he doesn’t particularly care about titles and records.

“This is a tough business we are in. A sport is something you play and enjoy. You can’t play this. Every time we step into the ring, we risk our lives. People only care about records and make fun of someone who losses but they don’t understand the risk. This is why I demand respect for all boxers.”

Having been a WBC Champion in 2015 and winning numerous titles, he’s banked in good cash. As of 2023, his worth stands at $30 million.
