Five teams in the NBA have won 70% of the championships which is 30 out of the 43 finals since 1980. The Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics are these teams and are some of the 10 best NBA teams of all time. Here we go.

Golden State Warriors – 2022

The Golden State Warriors are one of the best NBA teams of all time. GSW has had some of the best players in its squad, from Steph Curry to Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant. They have won a total of seven titles, with the last coming in 2022.

The team was founded in 1946 and is part of the Western Conference and plays their home games at the Chase Center in San Fransico, California.

Toronto Raptors – 2018/19

The Toronto Raptors team of the 2018/19 season is one of the best NBA teams of all time. After it refreshed the team in the off-season with Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green, the team produced a performance that saw them not only qualify for the championship playoffs for the first time in 26 years but also become NBA Champions.

 They beat Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and the Golden State Warriors. 

Cleveland Cavaliers – 2016

2016 is the best season in the Cavalier’s history because it is the one in which they won their first and only NBA Championship. The one man who helped them get there is the one and only LeBron James and do you know the team they beat? The Golden State Warriors. 

Obviously, the GSW were the favourites having won the title the previous year but the Cavaliers would not lose to them again and this is why the Cavaliers are one of the top 10 best NBA teams of all time.

San Antonio Spurs 2015/16

The 2015/16 season is San Antonio Spurs’ best in its history. The team won 67 games and went 39 home games unbeaten. Despite the San Antonio Spurs’ great run in the regular season, they fell short in the playoffs having lost to Oklahoma City. The last time the team won the NBA Championship was in 2014 and has a total of five titles. 

The team was founded in 1967 and plays its home games at the AT&T Centre in Texas. 

Miami Heat – 2012/13

Miami Heat is another of the best NBA teams of all time producing one of their best seasons in the 2012/13 campaign. The trio of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh led them to their second title after six years since their first. 

They won 66 games, lost 16 and had a win percentage of .805. Personal records were also set with LeBron James scoring 20,000 points and becoming the youngest player to make those points. Also, he scored 30+ points in six successive games.

Dallas Maverick – 2006/07

The Mavericks feature in the list of the best NBA teams of all time because of what they did in the 2006/07 season. They won 60 games and lost 22 with a winning percentage of .732.

However, despite their impressive regular season, the Mavericks had a bad run in the playoffs, losing to the Golden State Warriors (GSW). Despite them concluding the season badly, they still feature in our list.

Detroit Pistons – 2003/2004

The Detroit Pistons 2003/2004 season is one of the best NBA teams of all time. They started the season strongly and went on a 13-game winning streak from December to January. However, their form dipped mid-season and they lost six games consecutively. 

Despite the loss, they managed to turn things around and completed the season with a good record of 54-28 and went on to win the NBA in the playoffs. 

Chicago Bulls – 1995/96

Before the Golden State Warriors rolled around, the Chicago Bulls were the best NBA team of all time. The 1995/96 season is their best and NBA faithful still talk about it. The team was led by Phil Jackson that year and they made history by winning the highest number of games a team has in a single season with 72. 

When it comes to the players, Michael Jordan, Rodman and Pippen ran the show and gave fans some of the best moments in NBA history. The Bulls was founded in 1966 and play their home games at the Unified Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Los Angeles Lakers – 1986/87

The Lakers are one of the teams that NBA fans adore. One of the best players in basketball history Kobe Bryant rocked the yellow jersey. You might argue that he put them up high but even before he joined, the Lakers were already successful. 

In total, the Lakers have won 17 titles with 1986/87 being one of their best seasons. With players like Magic Johnson, Bryson Scott and James Worthy, the Lakers went on to win the championship in 6 playoff games. The Los Angeles Lakers was founded in 1947 and plays their games at the Staples Centre in California.

Boston Celtics – 1985/86

The Boston Celtics ranks fourth in our list of the best NBA teams of all time. The 1985/86 season is one etched in the clubs’ history as they clinched the championship having won 67 games

The team had great players like Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson and Danny Ainge massively contributed to their success. Celtics has won a total of 17 championships in its 76-year history. The team plays its home matches in TD Garden, Boston Massachusets.
