Khama Billiat’s Playing Career
The forward began his career in his home country, Zimbabwe, with CAPS United. He only played one game and didn’t score any goals. In 2010, he moved to South Africa and began his career with Ajax Cape Town.
He got a significant amount of game time. He played 83 games and was able to demonstrate his scoring capabilities. Billiat scored 21 goals in his three years at the club. This caught the attention of Mamelodi Sundowns, who signed him in 2018.
Billiat played for the Brazilians for five years (2013 to 2018) and then switched to his current club Kaizer Chiefs.

Khama Billiat’s Contract
When Khama Billiat joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2013, he signed a three-year contract with a possible extension of 24 months. It also attracted a 10% pay increase and an R28,000,000 buyout clause for clubs outside South Africa.
The extension materialised, meaning Billiat left the club in 2018 for Kaizer Chiefs. He initially penned a three-year contract with the Amakhosi, which was extended by another two years in 2021.
Billiat is currently out of contract with the club. Reports indicate that he’s received an offer from Tanzanian club Yanga SC. That said, his club Kaizer is willing to extend his contract for another year, but he’s not shown up since the expiry of his contract in June.

At Mamelodi Sundowns, Billiat was reported to earn R160,000 before deductions. When his contract ended and other clubs wanted to sign him, Sundowns were ready to add R40,000.
When he moved to Kaizer Chiefs, he received a big pay rise. Today, he’s one of the highest-paid footballers in Africa. He reportedly earns R1 million ($54,203) and R12 million ($650,433).
