The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League is the biggest competition in African football. Every year, the biggest clubs in the continent fight for the honors. Since its inception in 1964, 26 clubs have won the league, and 12 have done it more than once. Which club has the most number of titles?

6. Raja Club Athletic Casablanca, Canon Yaoundé, Hafia Football Club & Wydad Casablanca
- All these clubs have won three CAF Champions League titles. Moroccan club Raja Casablanca won three titles in 1989, 1997, and 1999.
- Cameroonian club Canon Yaounde won the continental championship in 1971, 1978, and 1980.
- Guinean club Hafia Football Club in 1972, 1975 and 1977.
- Wydad Casablanca won the titles in 1992, 2017, and 2021/22.
5. Clubs With Two Titles
Four clubs have won two titles:
- ES Setif
- Enyimba Aba
- JS Kabylie
- Asante Kotoko SC

- FAR Rabat of Morocco

4. Espérance Sportive de Tunis
The Tunisian giants are the most successful club in their country. They’ve won 32 Premier League titles, 15 Tunisian Cups, and 6 Tunisian Super Cups. On the international level, they’ve won four titles, still the most. This came in 1994, 2011, 2018, and 2019. Since then, they have reached the quarter-final and semi-final.

3. Zamalek SC
Egyptian giants Zamalek SC have also won five CAF Champions League titles. They first became African champions in 1984. They won it again in 1986, 1993, 1996, and 2002.
Although Zamalek SC has come close to winning the title again, like in 2020 when they played in the final against Al Ahly, they’ve been unable to do it. They are the defending champions of the Egyptian Premier League and will play in the continental competition again for a chance to reclaim glory again.

2. TP Mazembe (Congo)
It will take something for the second most successful club in Africa, TP Mazembe, to catch up on El Ahly. TP Mazembe first captured the Champions League title in 1967 and defended it in 1968.

This made them the first team to win back-to-back titles. However, their dominance in the continent faded, and they went for 41 years without the CAF title. In 2009 and in 2010, TP Mazembe reclaimed continental honors. Their last title came in 2015.
1. El Ahly SC (Egypt)
El Ahly SC is the most successful African club in the continent having won a total of 11 CAF Champions League titles. They won their first title in 1982 and have dominated the competition. El Ahly is the defending champion. They won their latest silverware in a 3-2 win over Wydad Athletic Club.
