Honey and Avocado Mask

Key ingredients:

  • A ripe avocado
  • A tablespoon of honey
  • Tablespoon of plain yogurt(optional)

Steps

  • On a bowl, mash the avocado until smooth
  • Add in your honey and yogurt(if it’s available)
  • When the mixture is smooth, apply on your dry face and neck. Avoid the eye area. 
  • Rinse with warm water after relaxing for 15-20 minutes

The avocado is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, thus nourishing your dry skin and helping in hydration. Honey is a natural humectant. This means, it’ll draw moisture from the air into your skin.

Oat and Honey Mask

Ingredients

  • Quarter cup of oats
  • Two tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoon milk(optional)

Mixing process

  • Crush oats to a fine powder
  • Add honey and milk(if available) and mix to a paste
  • On a damp face and neck, apply the mixture evenly and let it sit for 20 minutes. 
  • Using warm water, rinse and pat dry.

Oatmeal absorbs excess oil on your skin. It also helps in assisting acne prone skin. It contains natural cleansers known as saponins. Therefore it helps exfoliate your skin by removing oil and dirt from clogged pores. 

Using honey in your skincare leaves you nourished, soothed and hydrated.

Brown Sugar and Coconut Oil Mask

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • Half teaspoon honey(optional)
  • Few drops of essential oils(optional and should be according to your skin type)

Mixing Ingredients

  • If your coconut oil has solidified, gently melt it
  • Mix the brown sugar, coconut oil, honey (optional), and essential oil (optional). Stir until well blended
  • Gently massage the mixture onto your clean, damp face, avoiding the eye area 
  • Relax and wait for 15 minutes
  • With warm water, rinse the mask and pat your face dry. Apply a moisturizer cream to help lock in the hydration. 

Adjust the ratio of brown sugar to coconut oil depending on your skin type. If you have oily skin, use more brown sugar. If you have dry skin, use more coconut oil. 

Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer and also occlusive. Besides, it’s used to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells.

You can add one tablespoon of ground oatmeal to boost exfoliation and is also ideal for acne-prone skin. Also, you may consider adding turmeric and avocado to this mixture. Other people mix coconut oil with butter, especially the Shea butter.

Turmeric and Yogurt Mask

  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • Half teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Procedure

  • Smoothly mix the three ingredients
  • Apply the mixture on your face and avoid the eye area
  • Relax for 15 minutes and don’t wait for long as the turmeric can stain
  • Clean yourself with warm water and pat dry

Dark chocolate mask

  • Half tablespoon salt

  • A third cup of milk

Mixing Procedure

  • Melt the dark chocolate until smooth
  • Add the sugar, salt, and milk

  • After 20 minutes and use warm water to rinse

  • Quarter cup strawberries
  • Quarter cup plain yogurt

  • Mash ripe strawberries into a pulp
