It isn’t rare for siblings to play in the same sport. However, it’s special when they compete in the same sport at a professional level. One way fans can explain this is their family’s natural ability to do well in the sport. At times, early exposure to the sport leads to this. The National Basketball Association (NBA) has a couple of siblings playing against each other. In this article, we’ll list brothers in the NBA.

Ausar and Amen Thompson

Ausar and Amen are the latest pair of brothers to join the NBA. The Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets drafted them in the 2023 NBA draft, respectively. The two are just getting started in their career but are already dreaming big.

In an interview with Today.com, Asaur said his vision is to win the NBA and desires to build a rivalry against his brother. Ausar talked about creating a new vision board after they fulfilled their initial vision of making it into the league.

Giannis, Kostas, and Thanasis Antetokounmpo

No list of brothers in the NBA will be complete without the Antetokounmpos. Giannis, Kostas and Thanasis. Thanasis is the oldest of the trio. He began his career in Greece before moving to the 2013 NBA Development League Draft. He then played for Panathinaikos and was later drafted to the NBA by the Milwaukee Bucks, joining Giannis.

Although he plays with him in the same team, Giannis is the most popular of the two. He has only played for the Bucks and continues to make his claim as one of the best Bucks players to represent the team. In 2021, the two brothers won the NBA Championship

As for Kostas, he currently plays in the Greek League but was in the NBA. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers, won the Championship in 2020, and was part of the Dallas Mavericks. The trio might go down as the most successful brothers in the NBA, having won the Championship.

Julian and Justin Champagnie

The Champagnies added to the brothers in the NBA after they joined in 2021 and 2022. Justin began his career with the Toronto Raptors in 2021, and Julian the following year with the Philadelphia 76ers. With a combined five years between them, both have played in the NBA development league with the hope of improving their capabilities and establishing themselves.

Markieff and Marcus Morris

The twin brothers add to the list of brothers in the NBA. They were drafted into the NBA in 2011. Markeiff was selected by the Phoenix Suns, and Marcus by the Houston Rockets. The latter joined Markeiff in the Phoenix Suns in 2013 and played together.

However, after two and a half seasons, the Suns traded Marcus to the Detroit Pistons. Markeiff was furious, asked to leave, and went to the Washington Wizards. The two haven’t played in the same team since. Currently, Markeiff plays for the Dallas Mavericks, and Marcus for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Seth and Stephen Curry

Just like their father, Dell Curry, Seth and Stephen are basketballers and are one of the most famous brothers in the NBA. Stephen is the most popular and successful of the two. He’s only played for the Golden State Warriors, while Seth has played for several teams. Currently, he turns out for the Dallas Mavericks. Unlike Steph, who has five NBA Championships, Seth hasn’t won any.

Playing with or against your sibling is fun. That said, it can be a source of pressure, especially if one is more successful. Nonetheless, it doesn’t seem to interfere with the family dynamics. These brothers in the NBA understand and support each other irrespective of everything else.
