This competition will be historic for several reasons. It’s the first tournament where three countries will host, and the second to be hosted by more than one country. In 2022, Japan & South Korea shared hosting duties.

America welcomes the World Cup for a second time, after their first in 1994. Canada hosts the first men’s World Cup and Mexico will have the tournament on its soil for a third time, after hosting in 1970 and 1986.

The 2026 World Cup will be the first to have 48 teams. These nations will play across 20 venues, with most matches (60) in the U.S., and the rest split evenly between Canada and Mexico. 16 stadiums will be used across the three countries. In this article, we’ll tell you more about the World Cup 2026 host cities.
