Lyon won their first title in 2010/11 against former winners Potsdam and won their second the following year.

Between 2015 and 2019, Lyon had an unprecedented run, winning five consecutive titles. Their run was halted in 2020/21 after French rivals Paris Sanit-Germain beat them in the quarter-finals.
