Gary Player Golf Course – Sun City, South Africa

This is one of the best golf courses in Africa. It has hosted the Nedbank Golf Challenge since 1981. Some of the world’s best golfers, like Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, and Jack Nicklaus, have played on this course. 

The Gary Player Golf Course was the first to meet the United States Golf Association (USGA) regulations. It stretches over 7000 metres and overlooks the Pinalesberg Mountains which provide spectacular views. It’s an 18-hole par-72 golf course. 

The other facilities the club offers include a gym, halfway house, showers and locker facilities among others.

Flamingo Golf Course – Montasir, Tunisia

The Flamingo Golf Course is an 18-hole par-72 golf course. It was opened in 1988 and has 7 cliff holes, 3 water holes, and exquisite fairways surrounded by approximately 2000 trees. You can use this course whether you are a professional or an amateur. 

If you are a club member at the Flamingo Golf Course, you have an array of things to enjoy. The clubhouse lets you enjoy its locker rooms, access golf tuition, bar and other amenities.

Muthaiga Golf and Country Club – Nairobi, Kenya

Described as the home of golf, this course is an 18-hole championship course raised for its fast greens. The Muthaiga Golf and Country Club is known for its modernity and tradition. Over the years, it has retained its British flair. The club started its operations in the 1920s and hosted its first tournament in the 1960s. 

Several golf tournaments take place at the Muthaiga Golf Course, including the Magical Kenya Open, a European Tour event, the Muthaiga Open, and Winston Churchill among other competitions.

Lemuria Golf Course – Praslin Island, Seychelles

Lemuria Golf Course, one of the most prestigious golf courses in Africa, was opened in 2000. It’s an 18-hole par 70 course that stretches over 5,500 meters. The course was designed by Rodney Wright and Marc Antoine Farry. 

You might find it a bit constricted but the landscape makes up for it. Surrounded by water bodies and hills, golfers should be ready for the challenge to focus on their shots and land them in the right place.

Windhoek Golf and Country Club – Namibia

The golf course covers 6100 meters. It’s an 18-hole par-71 course with greens and fairways that wind throughout it. After a long day playing golf, you can take a rest at the country club hotel that has excellent accommodation. 

For those who are there for business, Windhoek Country Club has conference facilities. Additionally, the restaurant, bar & lounge, and group function rooms are there for your use. 

Le Touessrok, Ile Aux Cerfs – Mauritius 

The Ile Aux Cerfs Golf Club is one of the best golf courses in Africa. With picturesque views dotting the 19-hole par-72 course, it sits on the Ile aux Cerfs island that you can only reach via its shuttles. 

You’ll have a view of the ocean when you move from one hole to the next and enjoy the breeze from the surrounding trees. This course has been recognized by Golf World Magazine as a prime golfing destination. 

Mazagan Golf Club – El Jadida, Morocco

The Mazagan Golf Club provides a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean as you tee off. The 18-hole course covers over 6,800 meters and is lined up with lush green fairways and sandy bunkers. 

Besides that, you can enjoy its other features like the gym, restaurant overlooking the beach, golf lessons and so much more. It’s truly a golfer’s heaven. This explains why the Mazagan Golf Club was voted the best golf course in Morocco by Golf Digest
