  • 12 oz. fresh yakisoba noodles
  • (340g)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 8 oz. sliced chicken thighs or breast (225g)
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons oil (plus 2 teaspoons, divided)
  • 6 fresh shiitake mushrooms (thinly sliced)
  • 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 medium carrot (julienned)
  • 2 cups cabbage (julienned)
  • 2 scallions (julienned)

Step-by-step Guide on How Prepare Yakisoba Chicken Noodle For Dinner

  • You will need to remove the yakisoba noodles from the package. Even though yakisoba noodles generally don’t require precooking, breaking them apart right after opening can be difficult. You may find that they are hard to separate as they hard when you remove them from the package.
  • After briefly rinsing the noodles in hot water, gently break them up. Set aside after draining thoroughly.
  • Combine the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin, and sugar in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the sliced chicken with 2 teaspoons cornstarch and 2 teaspoons oil. Then, set aside.
  • Over medium-high heat, heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok. One minute after adding the chicken, allow it to sear in one layer. Remove from the wok and set aside after another minute of stir-frying.
  • Into the wok, add 2 tablespoons of oil and the shiitake mushrooms. Add onions.
  • Once the onions are soft, add the carrots, cabbage, and cabbage juices. Stir-fry for 2 minutes. Continue to stir-fry for 2 more minutes before adding the noodles, seared chicken, scallions, and sauce.
  • In a large bowl, stir-fry the mixture until the noodles are heated through, about 2-3 minutes more.
  • Serve your chicken yakisoba hot!
