Dell Curry and Steph Curry/Seth Curry
The Curry name has a lasting legacy in the NBA and it all started with their father, Dell Curry. He played for the Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Toronto Raptors, but is best remembered for his time at the Charlotte Hornets. Curry was a great shooter. He averaged 45.7% in field goals and 40.2% in 3-point field goals percentage.
Like him, his sons have done well in the league. Stephen Curry is more successful with multiple NBA Championships, an Olympic gold medal and is the best 3-point shooter in the league. Meanwhile, Seth went undrafted and is not as prolific as his brother.

Mychal and Klay Thompson
Mychal Thompson was drafted into the NBA in 1978. He played for the Portland Trail Blazers, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Los Angeles Lakers. He played 935 games, averaging 13.7 points, 2.3 assists and a field goal percentage of 50.4%. Thompson paved the way for his sons, Klay and Mychel.
Klay Thompson is one of the best shooting guards in the league. The Golden State Warriors drafted him in 2011 and he had a successful run with the team. Klay is a four-time NBA Championship winner and a five-time NBA All-Star. On the other hand, his brother Mychel spent only one year in the league with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Rick Barry and Brent Barry/Jon Barry and Drew Barry
This is one of the best NBA father-son duos. Rick Barry joined the NBA in 1965 as a first-round, second-overall pick draftee of the San Francisco Warriors. He went on and played for the Oakland Oaks, Washington Caps, New York Nets, now the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. Rick won one NBA Championship in 1975 and was the MVP in that year.
His sons, Brent, Jon and Drew, played in the NBA. Brent had the most prolific career of the two, winning the NBA twice in 2005 and 2007. Jon played in the league but didn’t have a notable impact and Drew only played for the Golden State Warriors and the Atlanta Hawks. Jon now works as an NBA analyst at ESPN3.

Joe and Kobe Bryant
Perhaps one of the most famous NBA father-son duos. Joe “Jellybean” Bryant began his NBA career in 1975 as a Philadelphia 76ers player. Joe Bryant played for the San Diego Clippers and the Houston Rockets and then spent the rest of his career overseas.
However, his son Kobe Bryant overshadowed him. Kobe won five NBA Championships, was twice the MVP final and was the Most Valuable Player. He is fondly remembered for his on-court and off-the-court presence. After his death, a statue was erected outside the Staple Center.

Tim and Tim Hardaway Jr.
Tim Hardaway Senior spent a larger part of his career playing for the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat. He played 867 games and made 8.2 assists and 43.1 field goal percentage. Tim Senior was a five-time NBA All-Star and made it into the All-NBA First Team. His son Hardaway Jr. is in his 24th season in the league. He was first drafted by the New York Knicks in 2013. The small forward or shooting guard also played for the Atlanta Hawks, the Dallas Mavericks and currently the Detroit Pistons.
Jerami and Harvey Grant
Jerami and Harvey Grant make the next-best NBA father-son duos in the league. His father is the twin brother of Horace Grant, who played in the famous Chicago Bulls team. Jerami Grant hasn’t reached the heights his uncle reached but has been a decent player in the teams he’s been part of including, the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons and the Portland Trail Blazers. His performance has been satisfactory enough for him to receive a call-up to the U.S. men’s national basketball team. He was part of the team that won a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Larry Nance and Larry Jr.
In 1981, Larry Nance was a first-round, 20th-overall pick for the Phoenix Suns. He spent seven years there and then moved to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the remainder of his career. He was a three-time NBA All-Star, an NBA All-Defensive First Team, and twice an NBA All-Defensive Second Team.
The power forward scored 15,687 points, and 7,067 rebounds and made 2,027 blocks. His son Larry Jr. is not the biggest name in the league. His career began at the Los Angeles Lakers. Larry Jr. then joined the Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers, the New Orleans Pelicans and now the Atlanta Hawks.
