Allez Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain might not be the first team you think about when it comes to the best football chants, but its anthem ranks highly. The tune was recorded in 1977 and composed by Daniel Tome and Jacques Morali. PSG fans turn out in large numbers during their matches and demonstrate support by singing “Allez Paris Saint-Germain”.

Cant Del Barca 

The Camp Nou is transformed into a musical theatre with this chant. It gives the team that extra oompf on match days, enough to intimidate the opposing teams. The song was written by Jaume Picas and Jose Maria Espinas.

Glory Glory Man United

Manchester United fans might not have a lot of opportunities nowadays to chant “Glory, Glory Man United” but it’s one of the best football chants. It rings around Old Trafford after a pleasant match for the Reds. 

The song was written by Frank Renshaw and adapted by the team before the 1983 FA Cup finals and has been the club’s anthem since.

Oh When the Saints

“Oh When The Saints” is sung across different football stadiums across England but it’s highlight associated with Southampton FC as they go by the nickname the Saints. Tottenham Hotspur fans also sing the song. 

Interestingly, Liverpool fans used to sing this in the 1960s in honor of former player Ian John. So its dynamism makes it one of the best football chants.

Kogalo

Anyone who’s experienced a Kenyan Premier League match will tell you that Gor Mahia, the country’s biggest and most successful team has one of the most vibrant anthems. 

Named “Kogalo”, the fans belt out the song in native luo language on their way to the stadium as they rock their traditional green shirt. Apart from that, they carry drums and wear traditional cow or goat skin.

Sweet Caroline

Well, this isn’t traditionally an English football song but has grown on the teams. It was sung during England’s exploits in the Euro 2020 tournament and the Lionesses’ win in the Euro 2021 tournament. 

Gareth Southgate even applauded the song and stated that it should be part of their anthems for its ability to unite and create positive energy amongst people. 

You’ll Never Walk Alone

The atmosphere created by Liverpool fans at Anfield is second to none. Opposing teams admit that the stadium can feel intimidating while the Liverpool players say they feel strongly supported. 

The song was written by Oscar HamKingdom,Rodgers,merstein II and composed by Richard Rodgers but different covers became popular in the United Kingdom such as the one done by Gerry and Pacemakers in 1963. 

It was around this time that Liverpool adopted the song and is now embedded in its culture.
