The older you get in sports, the lesser your chances of keeping up with the game. NFL players who have not won the Super Bowl in their prime years seem doomed. Unless they are playing for a top team, they are unlikely to win one before their careers end. However, several players have defied old age and added this coveted accolade to their collection. These are the oldest players to win a Super Bowl.

Lomas Brown, Age 39, Super Bowl XXXVII

Lomas Brown is one of the oldest players to win a Super Bowl. In 1985, the Detroit Lions drafted him and it’s where he spent most of his career. He also represented the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, the New York Giants and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It wasn’t until his last season, 2002, in the NFL that he won the Super Bowl.

Terrell Suggs, Age 37, Super Bowl LIV

Suggs’ NFL career started in 2003 after the Baltimore Ravens selected him as a round 1 pick in the NFL draft. He spent 15 years with the team and won his first Super Bowl in 2012. He left after the 2018 season and moved to the Arizona Cardinals and then the Kansas City Chiefs. Suggs won his second Super Bowl championship at 37, becoming one of the oldest players to win a Super Bowl.

Ray Lewis, Age 37, Super Bowl XLVII

Ray Lewis won his first Super Bowl in 2002 with the Baltimore Ravens. It’s the only team he played for during his 16-year career. Those who thought he was done were wrong. The linebacker won another Super Bowl in 2012, his last season in the league. He was a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, seven first-team All-Pro and a 13-time Pro Bowl player.

Willie Brown, Age 36, Super Bowl XI

Willie Brown went undrafted in the 1963 American Football League (AFL). The Houston Oilers signed him but cut him before the season began. The Denver Broncos signed the cornerback who played for the team for three years, He then moved to the Oakland Raiders and the unlikeliest thing happened. In 1976, Brown won the Super Bowl, two years before his career ended.

Michael Strahan, Age 36, Super Bowl XLII

It took Michael Strahan 14 years to win the Super Bowl. He played for the New York Giants between 1993 and 2007. He was NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year 2001, was in the First-Team All-Pro four times, seven-time Pro Bowl player and was twice the NFL sacks leader.

Otis Smith completes our list of the oldest players to win a Super Bowl. At the age of 36, he won his only Super Bowl ring. Smith’s career wasn’t exactly memorable, but winning a championship with the New England Patriots is memorable. The cornerback played for the:
