1. Ron Brown Scholar Program
Established in 1996 to honor the legacy of Ronald H. Brown, the Ron Brown Scholar Program is a prestigious scholarship initiative in the US. It was established in honor of Ronald H. Brown, the first black Secretary of Commerce in the US who tragically died in a plane crash in 1996.
The Ron Brown scholarship program was made to keep helping young black leaders, just like Mr. Ron Brown wanted. Every year, they pick about 20 to 30 students from all over the United States.
Qualified students will receive monetary help that covers their undergraduate tuition, fees, books, and room and board, for up to four years. Applicants of the Ron Brown Scholar Program are required to write two 500-word essays. In those essays, the applicant must be able explain why they need a scholarship.
Furthermore, you’ll need to attach two recommendation letters to your essays. One letter must come from a high school principal, teacher, or counselor.
