He set records, including helping the school reach the Class AA Eisenhower Sectional appearance and scoring record points. Because of his outstanding performances, Marquette University recruited him to play.

College Basketball
Dwyane Wade was outstanding throughout his college career. In 2003, he was instrumental in the school’s USA Conference victory, which qualified it as the Golden Four for the first time since 1997. The following year, he was named to the All-American first team by AP and was the first player from Marquette to receive such honours.
In his third year, Wade put in a memorable performance against a top-seeded Kentucky team and received a high NBA Draft projection. He decided to waive his final year and enter the draft.

Professional Basketball Career
In 2003, the Miami Heat drafted Dwyane Wade as a first-round, fifth overall pick. He played for the team until 2016, winning three NBA Championships. Additionally, he was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2006 finals and gained recognition in several aspects of his game.
Wade was a 13-time NBA All-Star, two-time All-NBA First Team, three-time All-NBA Second Team, NBA Scoring Champion in 2009, and an NBA All-Rookie First Team. Much of his success came at the Miami Heat, but the shooting guard also played for the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He also represented his country at the Olympic Games and won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Wade was a clinical scorer and a defensively solid player. Throughout his career, he scored over 23,000 points.

Beyond his on-court exploits, Wade married actress Gabrielle Union. They have been a reference point for black love and are usually seen as aspiring couples in the black community. They met in 2007 when hosting a Super Bowl Party but did not start dating until 2009. It was not until December 2013 that they engaged and then in 2014, got married in Miami.
Additionally, their advocacy and commitment to family endear them to their fans. The celebrity couple share five children: Kaavia James, Zaire Wade, Zaya Wade, Xavier Wade and Dahveon Morris.
