Women’s Euro 2025 fans were left with one question: Who is Michelle Agyemang? She was the young player of the tournament after a stunning show in which she helped England escape defeat in two crucial games, against Sweden and Italy. She is their new hero, and her story to the top is even more interesting.
Who is Michelle Agyemang?
Michelle Agyemang was born on February 3, 2006, in South Ockendon, Essex. She grew up in a football-loving family. Her father is a Manchester United fan, her brother a Chelsea fan, her sister a Westham United fan and she is an Arsenal fan.

At the age of six, Agyemang joined Arsenal. In the 2022/23 season, she played 11 games for Arsenal Academy and finished as the top scorer in all competitions.

Club Career
In 2022, Agyemang made her senior debut for Arsenal against Leicester City in the Women’s Super League. She scored her first goal for the club in the Women’s FA Cup win over Leeds United. In 2023, Agyemang debuted in European competition, coming on as a substitute in Arsenal’s semi-final defeat to VfL Wolfsburg.
Loan Spells at Watford & Brighton
In August 2023, Agyemang joined Watford on loan, but missed the first half of the season due to injury. On her return, she scored two crucial goals that helped Birmingham come out of the bottom of the Championship. In September 2024, Michelle joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan for the 2024/25 season.

International Career
Michelle Agyemang represented England in the junior categories, the U15, U17, U19, and U23. She was part of the U17 squad that played in the 2023 U17 Championships 2023, where she scored two goals against Poland and Sweden.
In November 2023, Michelle travelled with the squad to the Algarve Cup with the U19 squad and scored two goals against the Netherlands. During the U19 2024 European Championship, she bagged a hat-trick in England’s opening game against Lithuania.
In January 2025, Michelle received her first senior call-up and debuted in the UEFA Nations League against Belgium, and scored her first senior international goal. Weeks later, she made it into the Lionesses UEFA Euro 2025 and finished as the Young Player of the Tournament.

Michelle Agyemang’s Words
Reflecting on her superb performances, Agyemang recalled her early days in the game.
“It means the world to me and I’m so grateful,” Agyemang told ITV.
“[Three] years ago, I was just a kid throwing the ball to some of these girls, and now I’m here playing with them.
“To see my team celebrate with me and most of these girls I haven’t even known for more than two months, but it shows the togetherness that we have as a team, and the fight, the heart, the team spirit that we have.”
So, who is England’s saviour — quite literally as her surname translates from Ghanaian to “saviour of a nation” — Michelle Agyemang?
