The 2025/26 Premier League season is underway, and fans are watching their new squads in action. Several African players switched teams during the transfer window, and the continent is closely following their performances. These are the African players to look out for throughout the season.

    Bryan Mbeumo – Cameroon

    Bryan Mbeumo’s transfer from Brentford to Manchester United is one of the most exciting among African players. He has been in the Premier League since the 2021/22 season, playing for Brentford. He has 137 appearances, scored 42 goals and 28 assists. The 2024/25 season was his best, having notched 20 goals. United bought him for $87 million.

    Mohammed Kudus – Ghana

    Mohammed Kudus moved from Westham United to Tottenham Hotspur to replace South Korean player Son Heung-Min. Kudus gained global attention for his stunning performances at the Hammers and has been on the radar of a few clubs for a while. Spurs bought him for about $74 million and hope he’ll be on fire.

    Rayan Ati-Nouri – Algeria

    Rayan Ati-Nouri moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Manchester City for $41 million. He first played in the Premier League in the 2020/21 campaign as a loanee player from French club Angers. The move turned permanent, and he went on to play 135 games for Wolves. Interestingly, he already made his City debut against his former club.

    Simon Adingra – Ivory Coast

    Simon Adingra played for Brighton & Hove Albion between 2022 and 2025. In 60 appearances, he scored eight goals and is looking to help Sunderland remain in the top league at the end of the season. He moved to the Black Cats for $28 million and will play at the Stadium of Light for the next five years.

    Habib Diarra – Senegal

    Habib Diarra joined Sunderland from French club Strasbourg. This is his first Premier League season, and he will look to make an impact. He moved to the Stadium of Light for a reportedly club record fee of $40 million.
