How to Grow an Afro for Beginners

  1. If you have less than one inch of hair, massage and oil your scalp and condition your hair.
  2. Oil your scalp to provide it with moisture and nutrients that stimulate hair growth. Do this at least three times a week.
  3.  Apply oil to your scalp and massage it in. Then use a leave in conditioner, then oil your hair.
  4. Ensure you cover your hair using a silk durag or bonnet when sleeping. Additionally, you can use a silk pillow.
  5. When your hair is about 3 inches, detangle at least once a week to avoid breakage or unnecessary tension.
  6. Start trimming your hair to remove split ends and any damage.
  7. Use protective hair styling to prevent it from external damage.

These are the step to follow if you want to grow an afro. It requires discipline and routines to keep it growing. Decide what you want to have as your protective styling, but always, oil your scalp, massage and oil your hair.
