How to Get a Passport in Nigeria
- On desktop or mobile, visit the website: passport.immigration.gov.ng.
- A prompt will pop up requesting you to state where you’re making the application from: inside Nigeria or outside Nigeria. Choose the correct option.
- After making a selection, you’ll get three options: apply for a fresh passport for first timers, apply for a renewal or re-issue, or apply for correction of data.
- Key in your National Identification Number and personal details that appear.
- Check to see if your National Identification Number details are correctly filled, and then confirm & continue.
- The passport application page will appear. You’ll fill in information concerning your passport type, upload a photograph, personal details, contact information, next of kin and upload supporting documents.
- Remember, after uploading your passport photo on step 2, save the reference number given, as it will be used when booking an appointment.
- Once you’ve populated all the details, you’ll see a summary of your information, and also be prompted to make a payment.
- Use your preferred payment method to send the fee.
- When that is done, download the application form, the receipt and then book an appointment for the biometric capture.
- Follow the remaining steps and wait for your passport.
