Nomination Process

The Grammy Awards start with submission, during which artists and record labels can submit their work for consideration as long as they meet eligibility criteria. For instance, the work should have been produced between October 1 of the previous year and September 30 of the current year. Thereafter, the nominations are grouped based on their appropriate categories, including Album of the Year, Best New Artist, and Song of the Year.

First Round of Nominations

Once the nominations are done, the Grammy Nominations Review Committee confirms the correct placement of each piece in accordance with its criteria. Once everything is verified, the nominations are confirmed.

After that, the voting members vote in their areas of expertise, choosing an artist they think truly deserves the honor. Members cast ballots in genres they are experts in to ensure their selection is done with a deeper understanding of what the work entails. After this process, the final nominees are announced.
