Pour a liter of water into a non-stick large pot and add salt to taste
Break each tube of macaroni into three parts. Pour the pieces of macaroni tubes into the boiling water and allow them to boil until tender. Don’t cover the pot.
Stir them so they don’t stick together, and ensure not to cook them too soft. This should take about 5 minutes.
Sieve or drain the water off the macaroni and rinse them with cold water. This process will prevent them from sticking with one another.
Grate the cheddar cheese and one big onion.
Put a pot on medium heat. Heat the butter and add the grated onion.
Add a tin or two of evaporated milk
Add half of the cheese to the pot
Turn off the heat, add the macaroni to the mixture, and mix them gently.
Add a tablespoon of mustard, ⅓ cup of ketchup and salt and pepper to taste
You can add spices like thyme, paprika and seasoning
Whisk the fresh egg and add to the macaroni pie. Stir them gently. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
Coat a baking glass bowl with butter
Transfer the sauce to the baking dish and sprinkle some cheddar cheese and bread crumbs on top
Bake the macaroni pie at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes. You'll have a cream pie. The total time of cooking should be about 45 minutes.
Serve while hot, alone or alongside salad.
