Lamine Yamal’s Early Life
Lamine Yamal, whose full name is Lamine Yamal Nasraoui Ebana, was born on 13 July 2007 in Esplugues de Llobregat, Spain. He was born to a Moroccan father and a Mozambican mother. Yamal has two siblings, Keyne and Baraa Yamal.
Lamine Yamal’s Football Career
The footballer began his career at CF La Torreta. At the age of seven, he joined La Masia and began showing his skills. He was included in the Juvenil A team in the 2022/23 season and dazzled. Yamal impressed former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez, who invited him to train with the senior team and stayed with them during preseason.
He debuted for the club on 29 April 2023 against Real Betis. This made him the youngest player to debut for Barcelona, at 15, nine months and 16 days old. The following year, Yamal played 37 matches, scored five goals and made five assists. His first goal came against Granada F.C.

Lamine Yamal’s National Team’s Career
The prodigy has been featured on the junior national team sides, from the U15s, U16s, U17s, and U19s to the senior sides. In 2023, he received his first senior call-up against Georgia and scored a goal.
At 16 years and 57 days old, this made him the youngest player to represent the Spanish national football team and score. Yamal’s rise coincided with the European Championship. He was part of the team that conquered Europe in Germany.
At 16 years, 11 months and 2 days old, he was the youngest player to play in the European Championships. He scored against France and again, was the youngest to do that.
