The National Football League (NFL) has some of the highest fan attendance in sports. Also, some of the stadiums are the biggest. Do you know which ones are the biggest? In this blog post, we look into that.

15. TIAA Bank Field – 69, 132
Formerly known as the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, Alltel Stadium and EverBank Field, the TIAA Bank Field holds some 69, 132 fans. It’s located in Jacksonville and is the home ground of the Jacksonville Jaguars. It opened in 1995 and has been renovated thrice; 2004, 2014 and 2016.
Its construction cost of $121 million. In 2022, the Jaguars had an average of 66, 459 fans, with the highest average of 66, 674.
14. Nissan Stadium – 69, 143
The Nissan Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Titans is one of the biggest NFL stadiums with a capacity of 69, 143. The facility was opened in 1999 in Nashville for $290 million with 177 executive suits.
The Nissan Stadium has hosted some of the biggest events. Artists like Ed Sheeran and Beyonce have performed at this venue. The largest attendance recorded in the venue is 71, 000. This was during Taylor Swift’s music tour in May 2023.

13. Lincoln Financial Field – 69, 596
Lincoln Financial Field is one of the biggest NFL stadiums. It has been the home ground for the Philadelphia Eagles since it opened in 2003. The stadium was constructed for $512 million and renovated only once in 2014.
Some of the facility’s features include 172 luxury suites with a capacity of 12 to 40 people.
The facility hosted notable events like a soccer game between Manchester United and Barcelona in 2003 and NFL Wildcard Playoff between the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles.
12. SoFi Stadium – 70, 000
Situated in Los Angeles, the SoFi stadium is one of the biggest NFL stadiums in the league. It has been renamed a couple of times. When it initially opened, it was called the City of Champions and the Los Angeles Stadiums.
It’s one of the newest stadiums in the league. It officially opened in 2020 after four years of construction. It cost amounted to $5 to $6 billion. Some notable events it has hosted include Super Bowl LVI in 2022. In 2026, it will host some FIFA World Cup games and in 2028 will be an Olympic Stadium. It’s also being considered for the 2031 and 2033 Rugby World Cups.
The SoFi Stadium has been awarded the Stadium of the Year and Outstanding Architectural Engineering Projects in 2021.
11. Mercedez Benz Stadium – 71, 000
The Mercedez Benz Stadium, formerly the New Atlanta Stadium was officially opened in 2017 for $1.6 billion. It’s the home of the Atlanta Falcons. The stadium was constructed with a retractable roof among other fancy designs. It holds 71, 000 people. Nonetheless, it has a record attendance of 79, 330 registered in 2022.
It’s the home of the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL and the Atlanta United of Major League Soccer (MLS). Some of the events it has hosted include the Super Bowl LIII in 2019, the first time it has hosted the event since 2000. The stadium has been scheduled to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Some of the concerts it has hosted include events held by global superstars like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Kenny Chesney.

10. M&T Bank Stadium – 71, 008
The M&T Bank Stadium is located in Baltimore, having opened in 1998. It has been the home of the Baltimore Ravens since then. The facility was constructed at $220 million. It has undergone a couple of rebranding from the Ravens Stadium at Camden Yards, PSINet Stadium and Ravens Stadium.
The stadium has five levels; the lower bowl, 300 suite levels, club level, 400 suite levels and the upper bowl. Although the stadium has a natural surface, it has previously featured an artificial surface.
Some of the events it has hosted include a soccer game between Chelsea and A.C Milan and Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Justine Timberlake, Beyonce and Jay Z have performed at the M&T Stadium.
9. Highmark Stadium – 71, 608
The Highmark Stadium, full name the Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Stadium was officially opened in 1973. It has been the home of the Buffalo Bills since then and is also used by Syracuse University which plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

It’s formerly called the Rich Stadium, Ralph Wilson Stadium, New Era Field and Bills Stadium. In 2021, the naming rights changed and it picked up the name Highmark Stadium after it signed a 10-year deal with Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. The stadium has an open-roof facility and was built with an astroturf surface.
8. NRG Stadium – 72, 220
NRG Energy bought the naming rights of this stadium formerly called Reliant Stadium in 2014. It has since carried the name NRG Stadium and is one of the biggest NFL stadiums. It officially opened in 2002 for $352 million.
The stadium is located in Houston Texas and is the home of Houston Texans in the NFL, the Texas Bowl, the Texas KickOff Game and the Houston Cougars.
The stadium has hosted some of the biggest events in the sport. The Super Bowl has been played here twice; Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl LI. It is scheduled to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

7. Caesars Superdome – 73, 208
Car manufacturer giants Mercedez Benz owned the naming rights to this stadium for 11 years between 2011 and 2021. During this period, it was referred to as the Mercedez Benz Superdome. However, they didn’t renew the contract after it ran out and the name was sold out to Caesars Entertainment, hence its current name.
The Caesars Superdome is the home venue for the New Orlean Saints. It was officially opened in 1975 and its construction cost $134 million. The 2013 Super Bowl was played at this stadium and it’s scheduled to host it again in 2025. Baseball, soccer and concerts have also taken place here.
6. Bank of America Stadium – 75, 523
Initially opened in 1996, the Bank of America Stadium is one of the biggest NFL stadiums in the league. Its construction cost $248 million. The facility has now been renovated four times; 2007, 2017, 2019 and 2021. The Bank of America Stadium is the home ground for the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte FC who play in the Major League Soccer (MLS).

5. Empower Field at Mile High – 76, 125
Empower Field at Mile High has a seating capacity of 76, 125, making it one of the biggest NFL stadiums in the league. It’s located in Sun Valley and has been the Denver Broncos home stadium since it opened in 2001. The construction cost $400.9 million. The Empower Field at Mile High has been a prime destination for the NFL playoffs, soccer, rugby league and concert events.
4. Arrowhead Stadium – 76, 416
The Arrowhead Stadium was opened in 1972 having cost $43 million. It’s located in Missouri and is the home of the Kansas City Chiefs. It has a capacity of 76,416 and is one of the biggest NLF stadiums.
The stadium is known for its crowd noise. In 2013, it entered the Guinness World Book of Records for the loudest crowd noise produced at 137.5 DB. Apart from the NFL, the Arrowhead Stadium has hosted soccer. It is one of the venues that will host soccer games during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
3. AT&T Stadium – 80, 000
Previously called the Cowboys Stadium, AT&T bought the naming rights in 2013 worth $17 to $19 million yearly. It was officially opened in 2009 for $1.3 billion. AT&T is the home ground for the Dallas Cowboys and Cotton Bowl Classics.
For a stadium of this price, it has amazing features like a retractable roof and the world’s largest HD video display.
Regarding events, AT&T has hosted Major League Soccer, Cotton Bowl, concerts and WrestleMania. It will add to its portfolio as it’s one of the stadiums earmarked to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals.

2. Lambeau Field – 81, 441
Lambeau Field acquired its current name in 1965, nine years after its opening. The facility’s construction took $960, 000 and has since been renovated three times; 2001–2003, 2012–2015 and 2023. Over the years, it has been expanded and its capacity increased. It has been the home stadium for the Green Bay Packers since 1957.

The MetLife Stadium is the biggest NFL stadium in the league. It has a capacity of 82, 500. MetLife is home to the New York Giants since it opened in 2010 at a cost of $1.6 billion. It has hosted soccer, Super Bowl XLVIII, WrestleMania and concerts. It is scheduled to host the FIFA World Cup games in 2026.
The highest attendance in this stadium was in 2012 when the Siyum Hashas held an event that attracted 93, 000 people.
